In addition to its superb rendering and comfort with pleasant contact in all seasons, bamboo flooring is virtually indestructible. More expensive than in other less noble species, bamboo flooring is now available in several manufactures, including solid bamboo and bamboo laminate, which is more affordable. Whether sticking, clipping or floating, bamboo flooring can easily be installed in any room, even in high traffic areas or in damp rooms.
Let‘s discover together the characteristics of different bamboo flooring, prices and suppliers of bamboo flooring.
Orientation of bamboo fibers
We distinguish, according to the orientation of the fibers:
Horizontal bamboo parquet: the bamboo stalks have been arranged in length on their widest edges, in order to naturally create the blade by compression of several layers (3 alternating layers in general) superimposed. It is the oldest and the simplest, which reveals the knots as they could be seen in nature for an authentic and natural effect.
Vertical bamboo flooring: it consists of a single layer of bamboo rods placed on their thinnest edges, to create the blade by their broad side, leaving finer and more delicate ribs to appear.
Bamboo densified flooring: an alternation of the direction of the bamboo rods before densification by compression makes it possible to obtain a smoother appearance without apparent ribs.

Prices
Bamboo flooring cost can vary, of course, at different places depending on the quality and the workmanship (posing treatments and realization of different colors from light and dark natural). To get an idea, you must first calculate the square meters you need. These costs will then be added to the VAT which could, however, be partially recovered if it comes within the case law (restructurings and the like). The vertical type, however, costs a bit more than the horizontal one, but in this case, the choice finishing plays a crucial role. It is always convenient, therefore, to prefer the coverage of larger surfaces to plain layering in one room.
Other factors that affect bamboo flooring cost
1- Types of work
To get a new floor, you have two choices: refurbish your existing floor or install new materials. If you opt for a refurbishment, certain techniques can achieve very satisfactory results (pushing and refinishing of the floor, cleaning of the marble, etc.) at a lower cost.
2- Area to be covered
Renovating your floor does not necessarily mean changing all the floors in your home. You may want to change only the parquet flooring in the living room or the tiled flooring of the bathroom. This will affect the amount of materials needed and the length of time the installation takes place. Thus, the larger the area to be renovated, the more the price will increase proportionately!
3- Type of materials
Choosing your flooring is surely the most fun part of the renovation. However, it is also at this stage that your portfolio is most at risk. Indeed, there are several types of materials such as hardwood, ceramic, marble, vinyl or carpet, whose prices are very variable within each of the categories.
4- Installing the new floor
If you have some knowledge in renovation, motivation and plenty of free time, you could save yourself by posting your own floating wood flooring or ceramic flooring. However, some coatings are more complex to install. In such cases, professionals must be employed.
