In recent decades, bamboo has gained popularity among architects, designers, builders and property owners. Although bamboo is not, botanically and technically speaking, a wood but an herb, in recent years has become the substitute for traditional wooden parquet.
Bamboo is one of the materials used since ancient times by man to increase your comfort and well-being. In the world of plastic and steel today, bamboo continues to contribute its centenary contribution and is still growing in importance.
Why bamboo?
Bamboo is called "vegetable steel", and this nickname has been acquired thanks to its physical characteristics that distinguish it, such as strength and hardness. There are several kinds of bamboo and each one is used in the most diverse fields: from eating, to textiles, from the construction of weapons and fishing rods to the production of parquet. The one used for the production of parquet belongs to the species of Phyllostachys Pubescens. Compared to oak or other types of wood used in parquet production, the bamboo wood flooring is tougher and more stable.
Advantages
In addition to strength and toughness, bamboo has other mechanical properties that make it better than other types of wood: it is light, strong and dimensionally stable. With the right workmanship and thanks to these characteristics you are able to obtain a more durable and durable bamboo flooring than regular parquet floors.
The eco-sustainability factor
Bamboo belongs to the family of grasses. It is an evergreen and lush plant; can reach twenty meters in height and 18 inches in diameter. Choosing bamboo parquet is a choice that respects nature. The bamboo plant grows spontaneously and does not need to be replenished, thus avoiding further aggravating the problem of deforestation. The parquet bamboo is preferred over traditional wood parquet because it is natural and does not require the use of fertilizers and pesticides.
Processing
The production of bamboo flooring is carried out exclusively with Italian or German production machinery; this is because they are the only ones that ensure greater precision at all stages of production and guarantee complete lack of imperfections on the finished product. In the finishing process, which involves seven steps, non-harmful and ecological wood paints are used with very low formaldehyde values to ensure a natural and ecological finished product. Parquet can be already finished and is therefore called prefinished or pre-finished bamboo parquet, available in two structures and two different colors.
1. The natural units, rods or bamboo canes as they are called, are of measures and forms that make them manageable, storable and systematized, conveniently and economically.
2. The reeds have a characteristic physical structure that provides them with high resistance in relation to their weight. They are round or almost round in their cross section, usually hollow, and with rigid transverse partitions, strategically placed to avoid breaking when bending.
Within the concentrates on the outer surface. In this position they can act more efficiently, providing mechanical strength and forming a firm and resistant shell.
3. The substance and texture of the reeds makes it easy to divide them by hand into short pieces (sawing or cutting them), or into narrow strips (splitting them). No expensive machines are needed, just simple tools.
4. The natural surface of many bamboos is clean, hard and smooth, with an attractive color, when the canes have been conveniently stored and matured.
5. Bamboos have little waste and no bark to eliminate.
The use of bamboo as a flooring material, whether primary, secondary, or occasional is common in areas where adequate bamboo grows in sufficient quantity. The importance of bamboo in any given region is usually determined by the economic level of the common people for the position of other more durable materials.
High strength (compared to the oak floor bamboo board is stronger by 50%).
1. Antistatic (this quality greatly facilitates cleaning).
2. Resistance to moisture (on the bamboo floor there are no stains and divorces).
3. Refractoriness (due to special bamboo processing technology).
4. Low cost (bamboo parquet is much cheaper than wood parquet).
5. Possibility of coloring in any color (besides natural shades, the bamboo floor can be steel, dark and tiger).
6. Excellent insulation (natural bamboo preserves comfortable temperature and microclimate of the room).
